How profit is calculated

The formula behind your net profit, gross margin, and net margin metrics.

Seller Hub calculates profit using the following formula:

Net Profit = Revenue - COGS - Shipping - Shopify Fees - Payment Fees - Refunds - Chargebacks

Component breakdown: - Revenue: Total amount charged to customer (from Shopify). Includes product price, shipping charged to customer, and taxes. - COGS (Cost of Goods Sold): Production cost from Printify for launch-connected fulfillment. Includes base product cost and printing/customization fees. - Shipping Costs: Actual shipping cost paid through Printify (not what you charged the customer). - Shopify Fees: Transaction fees charged by Shopify (varies by plan). - Payment Processing Fees: Credit card processing fees from the available payment-fee source; estimated fees are marked when exact provider data is unavailable. - Refunds: Amount refunded to customers (reduces revenue). - Chargebacks: Disputed charges where payment was reversed (reduces revenue, often includes chargeback fee).

Margin metrics: - Gross Margin: (Revenue - COGS) / Revenue x 100% - Net Margin: Net Profit / Revenue x 100%

All calculations use the exchange rate from the order date when converting between currencies.
